What is the Glaxior Retractable Glass Curtain System and how does it work?
This article explains what the Glaxior retractable glass curtain system is, its main design principles, and how the system operates to open and close terrace spaces using frameless glass panels.
The Glaxior retractable system is a vertical frameless glazing solution made up of independent tempered glass panels that slide along an aluminium track and pivot at the opening area. Once they reach the opening point, the panels can rotate and stack to one or both sides using a pivot mechanism and hinges.
The system is designed with top support and can open inwards or outwards, depending on the configuration and application. It has been developed specifically for use on terraces worldwide.
Structurally, the system consists of:
- An upper aluminium profile fixed to the terrace roof.
- A lower aluminium profile fixed to the floor or railing.
- Tempered glass panels (6, 8, 10 or 12 mm) installed between the profiles.
To ensure comfort and protection, the system incorporates vertical and lateral sealing gaskets, which help protect against water infiltration, wind, and noise while maintaining a frameless aesthetic.
