What is Glaxior made of?
An overview of the materials that make up the Glaxior system.
Aluminium
All Glaxior aluminium profiles are made from 6063 aluminium — an alloy of aluminium, magnesium and silicon particularly common in architectural applications.
Why this material?
-
High wear resistance
-
Smooth & silent movement
-
Excellent long-term durability
Glass
High-strength toughened glass, designed to maximise light intake without compromising the system’s safety. This glass is 10 times stronger than standard glass. It complies with the CTE impact and breakage tests.
Why this material?
-
10× stronger than standard glass
-
Maximises natural light
-
CTE impact & breakage compliant
Components
The system’s internal parts (rails, hinges and moving components) are made from polyamide, a technical material used in engineering.
Why this material?
-
High wear resistance
-
Smooth and silent movement
-
Excellent durability over time
